The jack-up PV DRILLING III rig, owned by PV Drilling, has recently set a new record for drilling the longest oil and gas well in Malaysia for Hibiscus Oil & Gas Malaysia Limited (HML - formerly Repsol Oil & Gas Malaysia Limited).
PV DRILLING III has started to drill for HML in Malaysia from the end of 2021 until end of Quarter 3, 2023 in accordance with the signed contract. This is one of the long-term contracts which PV Drilling successfully signed while the drilling market was seriously affected by Covid-19 pandemic, leading to the limited workload in the market. Up to present, the Rig has supplied drilling services for HML for about 15 months, setting a new record for the longest oil and gas well in Malaysia, about 6,963m. This record has received highly appreciation from the client; therefore, the Rig together with its drilling crew has received a thankful letter from HML for their endlessly efforts to conduct the drilling campaign safely and efficiently. Before that, the other jack-up rigs owned by PV Drilling, PV DRILLING I and PV DRILLING VI both set new records for longest wells in Vietnam, respectively 7,300m and 6,768m for Cuu Long JOC and Thang Long JOC.

PV Drilling started to penetrate Malaysian drilling market in 2017 with 02 drilling campaigns of PETRONAS CARIGALI SDN BHD and IPC Malaysia B.V (LUNDIN), respectively carried out by PV DRILLING III and PV DRILLING VI rigs. In 2018, PV Drilling continued to send PV DRILLING III rig for Repsol Malaysia’s drilling campaign. Gradually, PV Drilling has become a familiar brand name in this drilling market with an increasing number of rigs to stay here. Especially in Quarter 4/2019, all four jack-up rigs of PV Drilling were sent to Malaysia to conduct the drilling services, which helped to upgrade PV Drilling’s position to the runner-up among drilling contractor list in this market.
